Well, shopping is one of the necessities of life, and Japan is a country of shoppers.  Other than shoes and clothing being too small, and the dreaded return of 80's fashion (mullets, jeans worn under skirts, leg warmers... all popular in Japan), shopping isn't that bad.  Thought we might just use this section to show some of the more interesting aspects of shopping here.

Cigarette vending machines. Beer vending machines too.

Hmmm... no smoking if you're under 20, but this vending machine is just out on the street. Who's to stop you?
